DILL PIT
Exhibit D
iii) State the species to be planted and applicable quantities: See above for grass
seed mixture. No forbs, shrubs, or trees will be planted.
iv) Application method for grass seeding:
The seed will be applied by broadcasting or disking. The seeding rates
above have been recommended by Ben Hendrix, District Conservationist, Simla Field
Office.
v) Mulch, if necessary, and rates of application:
Certified noxious weed free straw or grass mulch will be applied and crimped in
at the rate of 4,000#/A as recommended.
vi) Establishment method for each species of shrub or tree:
No shrubs or trees are proposed for this wide-open rangeland area.
d) Specify which ponds, stream, roads and buildings will remain after
reclamation:
No ponds, streams, or buildings are presently on the site or proposed for the
site. The existing dry creek drainage "swale" will be maintained across the site from
where it enters the site near the southwest corner and leaves the site near the northeast
corner. The pit area will be the new drainage swale, with the bottom of the pit area
sloping to the north. The drainage swale area will be reseeded (with topsoil) as part of the
needed site reclamation. A driveway (pit entry) and access road to the pit will need to be
constructed from the existing access and gate on Highway 24 to the northeast corner of
the mining area. The constructed driveway and access road will be removed and reseeded
as part of the needed reclamation.
0
