• DILL PIT
Exhibit C
1) The Stormwater Discharge Permit will be designed to minimize damage to the
hydrologic balance and prevent off-site damage. This operation is designed to provide for
a stable configuration of the reclaimed area to be used for grazing. A dry creek bed will
be maintained in the mining area. With the final slope of the pit area, the final drainage
will basically follow the existing swale path at a lower elevation. The mining will begin
at the north end of the permit area, providing a low area that will help contain or slow
storm run-off, allowing any sediments from the pit area to settle. With the sand/gravel
soils at the site, any water held in the low area will percolate into the soil within 72 hours.
Once the stormwater leaves the mining area, it will flow approximately 0.50 miles on the
owner's property before it enters a neighboring property.
m) The deposit is proposed to be processed onsite to make road base for roads and
structural fill for other construction uses in the eastern part of the Elbert County and the
western part of Lincoln County. This will be done by a portable screening/washing plant.
Please see map Exhibit E.
n) The primary commodities to be mined will be sand and gravel for structural fill
and road material. Potentially, the pit may provide sand and gravel for concrete and
is asphalt.
o) There are no known incidental products to be mined by this proposed
operation. If any incidental products are discovered, The Division will be duly notified.
p) No blasting will be used on this site.
