(8) Groundwater information
Please see attached "Memo from DRMS Geochemist David Bird" and
address issues noted.
(9) Groundwater Quality Data
Please see attached "Memo from DRMS Geochemist David Bird" and
address issues noted.
(10) Surface Water Controls and Containment Facilities
Please see Memo from "DRMS Engineer Allen Sorensen" regarding
facilities evaluations.
(11) Surface Water Quality Data
(a) No perennial streams are within 2 miles of the site. All surface water is
general precipitation flow in the area. Site specific stormwater controls
will prohibit the discharge of waters that fall on to the site in identified
areas of concerns. Those areas are the ore pad, waste pile and haul roads.
(b) No surface water quality or flow data is required for this section due to
site specific conditions. There are no sources of surface water other than
stormwater which is addressed elsewhere in the application.
(12) Water Quality Monitoring Plan
Please clarify that monitor wells will be sampled the first month of each
quarter. Nuvemco will submit the results of sampling within 10 working
days to DRMS. Sampling will continue on a quarterly basis until adequate
baseline data is gathered as determined by the applicant and DRMS
jointly. To change the sampling interval a Technical Revision will be
required.
(13) Climate -Based on the area climatic norms and proposed mining activities
no additional information is required for this section.
(14) Geochemical data and analysis
Please see attached "Memo from DRMS Geochemist David Bird" and
address issues noted.
(15) Construction Schedule Information
Please address anticipated scheduling for storm water structures.
Note that DRMS staff must be notified in writing a minimum of ten (10)
working days of construction of any surface facility. It is at DRMS
discretion whether staff will be on site to monitor construction.
(16) QA / QC
Please note that engineer certified as-built drawings of all stormwater
structures must be submitted to DRMS within thirty (30) days of
construction completion as proof of QA/QC monitoring.
(17) Plant Growth Medium
Soils characterizations are noted in Exhibit 1. Due to the limited amounts of
soil the applicant is preserving as much as possible. Adequate handling and
erosion protections are noted within the permit application.
(18) Wildlife Protection
Please describe what "approved fences"for ponds are.
Please note any wildlife restrictions placed on the site by BLM.
