STORMWATER MANAGEM. i PLAN 2/20/09
Maryland Creek Ranch
GOOD HOUSEKEEPING
(SWMP TRAINING)
1. Dry and clean floors are maintained at all times in shops, labs, and any interior storage
areas. Any wet or slick substances are cleaned from floors to prevent slipping hazards.
2. Walkways, stairways, and doorways are kept clean and clear of extraneous materials.
3. Prior to cleaning an overhead walkway - make sure no one is directly below.
4. Garbage and waste material are picked up and disposed of on a bi-weekly basis.
5. All equipment is checked thoroughly for any leaks and/or required maintenance prior to
each daily use
6. All fuel storage tanks, waste areas, and other storage areas are routinely inspected for
leaks or conditions that could lead to unwanted contact with stormwater. Deficiencies
are contained and corrected as soon as possible.
7. Containers, drums, and bags of materials are stored away from direct traffic routes to
prevent accidental spills.
8. Containers are stored according to manufacturers' instructions to avoid damaging the
containers from improper weight distribution.
9. When appropriate, containers (example: 55 gallon drums) are stored on pallets or
shelves to prevent corrosion of the containers, which could happen with prolonged
contact with moist ground.
10. Other than normal fuels, solvents, and paints, there are no hazardous chemicals stored
or used at this site. Containers of normal fuels, solvents, or paints stored on site are
properly labeled and have individual Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) on record at
the site.
11. Look for updated tips and procedures on bulletin boards on site.
12
