3. Material stockpiles could be temporary or produced and reduced on a daily
basis and will be conveniently located adjacent to active mine areas
(excavation footprint) as excavation activities proceed.
4. There will be no waste rock or disposal areas, waste rock will be processed
into gravel and fill materials. Concurrent reclamation will place overburden
to the base of the excavation in compacted lifts.
(g) Dimensions of any existing or proposed roads that will be used for the mining
operations.
The existing private road accesses the owner's property at the gate located on
northeast side of the proposed permit area. The site land owner owns the road
area. The road is approximately 12 feet wide and has a good gravel surface.
The 30 foot wide perimeter buffer areas may be used to access the excavation
area. Besides the access gate area, there are no other new or improved roads
to be included as part of the permitted acreage.
(h) Water to be used in conjunction with the operations and the source.
Water required, if any, would be for occasional watering stockpiles equipment
areas. It is estimated that 1000 to 2000 gallons of water per day may be
necessary for watering stockpiles and equipment areas. The owner has
sufficient available local water rights to supply this minimal amount.
(i) Groundwater encountered and/or surface water intercepted.
As stated in Site Description (c), Groundwater will be exposed by the mining
activities. Any groundwater encountered will remain in the excavated pit as not
to disturb the hydrologic balance, pre or post mine. No off site transfer of fluid
will be conducted at this site including any and all stormwaters. There are no
wells, streams, ditches, ponds lakes or reservoirs, which will receive drainage
and/or runoff from storm events within the site. All stormwater at the site will
be contained within the excavation areas. Silt fences and sediment retention
berms or ditches will be maintained directing all site generated waters to the
excavation area.
(j) Compliance with applicable Colorado water laws and regulations governing
injury to existing water rights.
See (i) above and Site Description (c). A Well Permit for a Gravel Pit is being
filed with the Colorado Division of Water Resources for this operation. A
water augmentation plan will not be required for the pond surface.
