0
2.05.6(6)
Hubbard Creek and Terror Creek could be damaged by subsidence cracks
which would cause it to run into the mine below. It may be possible to repair
a stream that is affected by a crack. First the flow interrupting crack would
have to be located. Then a culvert would be installed to divert the water from
the crack. Then the crack would be sealed with a impervious liner or other
material.
•
•
Rockfall activity could damage and close roads and damage structures. The
structures at risk are the Operator's mine facilities. A large rock rolling into
one of the Operator's mine facilities could cause significant damage and loss
of life.
The sandstone ledge that forms Dove Cave could collapse.
The WAPA transmission line that runs parallel along Terror Creek could be
very minimally impacted by subsidence. Potential subsidence could, cause a
transmission tower to tilt slightly so it was out of plumb.
(b)(ii) The description of the worst possible subsidence consequences has
determined that subsidence will not cause material damage or diminution of
use to the Bruce Park Dams. Therefore the Applicant has prepared seismic
and subsidence monitoring programs per Rule 2.05.6(6)(c).
(b)(iii) The description of the worst) possible subsidence consequences has
determined that material damage and diminution of reasonably foreseeable
use of renewable resources could result in the event of mine subsidence
within the permit and adjacent area. Therefore, the Operator has prepared a
subsidence control plan in accordance with Rule 2.05.6(6)(b)(iii)(B).
The description of the worst possible seismic consequences has determined
the Bruce Park landslide could) cause material damage and diminution of
reasonably foreseeable use of he Bruce Park Reservoir.
(b)(iii)(B) A subsidence control plan, as described in Section 2.05.6(6)(f).
(c)(i) A subsidence and seismic monitoring program have been developed
exclusively for the Bruce Park Dam and Bruce Park landslide. One tightly
spaced subsidence line will be installed on the edge of panel B-11 as shown
on Map 27. The monitoring program will determine the commencement and
magnitude of subsidence movements which occur and provide a separate
confirmation of the angle of draw close to the Bruce Park Dam and landslide.
Monitoring frequency will be quarterly with more frequent monitoring
TR-65 2.05 - 109 - 12/09
