About 600 feet south of this pond is another pond 22 -1 serving the same function as 22 -P5. <br />It also held a moderate amount of water and appeared in good condition. <br />These two ponds provide a source of water to cattle and /or wildlife in close proximity to the <br />reclaimed lands. A third pond, 22 -1 shown below, sits in a small canyon below the most <br />southern reclaimed areas in Section 22. Over time, this pond has filled with sediment and no <br />longer appears to have the capacity to retain any runoff.
