amen
Earth 8 Environmental
D) Slope Contouring
1) VLF
Slope contouring was performed between stations J2 +00 ( + / -) and J6 +00 ( + / -), approximately
450 feet left of centerline to 50 feet right of centerline. Contouring was performed using
various CAT dozers and CAT excavators. Material generated as the cut progressed was pushed
down the slope.
E) Overburden to Stockpile
1) VLF
Oversize rock within the Phase 5 VLF fill area was removed from fill areas and hauled to the
overburden stockpile area east of the east perimeter road between stations A28 +00 ( + / -) to
A36 +00 ( + / -).
F) Cut to Fill
1) VLF
A John Deere 850 excavator and a CAT 385 excavator excavated structural fill material from
the following areas: between stations E0 +00 ( + / -) and E4 +00 ( + / -), approximately 100 to 300
feet right of centerline; between stations E22 +00 ( + / -) and E24 +00 ( + / -), approximately 0 to
100 feet right of centerline; between stations H1 +00 ( + / -) and H4 +00 ( + / -), approximately 0 to
100 feet left of centerline; between stations J26 +75 ( + / -) and J29 +00 ( + / -), approximately 100
to 150 feet right of centerline; and between stations K1 +00 ( + / -) and K6 +00 ( + / -),
approximately 0 to 150 right of centerline. The structural fill material was loaded into CAT
777 haul trucks.
Prior to structural fill placement, existing fill temperature were monitored and to be or above
39 °F. Ambient were monitored on an hourly basis, by an AMEC representative during fill
placement. Fill temperatures averaged approximately 43 °F during the period of time the
ambient temperature was below 32 °F.
Structural fill material was placed in the following areas: between stations A30 +00 ( + / -) and
A36 +00 ( + / -), approximately 50 to 250 feet left of centerline; between stations 130 +00 ( + / -) and
134 +00 ( + / -), approximately 100 feet left of centerline to 100 feet right of centerline; between
stations B 10 +00 ( + / -) and B 15 +00 ( + / -), approximately 0 to 75 feet left of centerline; between
stations D0 +00 ( + / -) and D3 +00 ( + / -), approximately 0 to 30 feet right of centerline; between
stations E4 +00 ( + / -) and E23 +00 ( + / -), approximately 100 to 150 feet right of centerline;
between stations J6 +00 ( + / -) and J10 +00 ( + / -), approximately 400 to 450 right of centerline;
and between stations K6 +00 ( + / -) and K10 +00 ( + / -), approximately 75 to 100 feet right of
centerline. The structural fill material was spread using various CAT dozers in 18" to 24" lifts.
Each lift was moisture conditioned using a CAT 773 water truck (when necessary) and
compacted using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor, passing over the entire fill
surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique is applicable).
Structural fill (processed ore) was placed within the Phase IV VLF, between stations G16 +00
( + / -) and G30 +00 approximately 100 to 150 feet left of centerline. Existing processed ore was
placed using a CAT D -6 LGP dozer in 12" loose lifts and moisture conditioned using a CAT
773 water truck. Compaction was achieved using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor.
Structural fill placement was observed by an AMEC representative constantly.
