amen <br />Earth & Environmental <br />VLF EARTHWORKS FIELD MONITORING SUMMARY (WEEKLY REPORT) <br />Project Title: CC &V/ Phase 5 <br />Owner: Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Co <br />Location: Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mine <br />Work Element: Phase 5 CQA/ VLF <br />Project No.: 84201125EO <br />Contractor: Ames Construction Co., Inc. <br />Shift: Day <br />Date: October 24, 2009 <br />Reporting Period: 10/18/09 through 10/24/09 <br />Days <br />S <br />M <br />T <br />W <br />IT <br />F <br />S <br />Work Shifts <br />D <br />D <br />D <br />ED <br />LD <br />D = Day Shift N = Night Shift <br />Ambient Temperature Range (F): Low: 24 °F to 33 ° F ( + / -) High: 337 to 63 ° F <br />AMEC CQA: Personnel On -site through the Reporting Period (See Attachment A). <br />AMES: No work delays due to weather. <br />CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES and PROGRESS: <br />II) EARTHWORKS <br />A) Clearing and Grubbing <br />1) VLF <br />No work performed during the week. <br />B) Stripping <br />1) VLF <br />No work performed during the week. <br />C) Subgrade'Preparation <br />1) VLF <br />Subgrade preparation was performed in the following areas: between stations 135 +00 ( + / -) and <br />137 +50 ( + / -), approximately 100 feet left of centerline to 20 feet right of centerline; between <br />stations B10 +00 ( + / -) and B15 +00 ( + / -), approximately 0 to 125 feet left of centerline; between <br />stations D0 +00 ( + / -) and D3 +00 ( + / -), approximately 30 feet left of centerline to 30 feet right <br />of centerline; and between stations E4 +00 ( + / -) and E12 +00 ( + / -), approximately 100 feet left <br />of centerline to 200 feet right of centerline. Various CAT dozers were used to rip the subgrade <br />surface to a depth of 6" to 8 ". The subgrade was then moisture conditioned using a CAT 773 <br />water tuck (when necessary) and compacted using a 10 -ton vibratory smooth drum compactor. <br />The entire surface of the subgrade was compacted with at least 4- passes. This area was <br />inspected by an AMEC representative and accepted for structural fill placement. <br />VLF Weekly Report WE 10.24.09.D.doc <br />
