ameO
Earth 8 Environmental
Subgrade preparation was performed at east side of the Phase IV facility, between stations
G0+00 (+/-), G6+00 (+/-), 133+00 (+/-), and B4+00 (+/-) approximately 100 to 150 feet left of
the "G" centerline. The subgrade preparation was performed using a CAT D-6 LGP dozer, a
CAT 773 water wagon, and a 10-ton vibratory smooth drum compactor. An AMEC field
representative monitored the preparation constantly. Nuclear density testing was performed for
the subgrade with results averaging 95% of maximum dry density. Moisture-density relations
were performed in accordance to ASTM D-698-07.
E) Slope Contouring
1) VLF
Slope contouring was performed between stations J 1+00 (+/-) and J7+50 (+/-), approximately
50 to 300 feet right of centerline and between stations J24+00 (+/-) and J29+00 (+/-) 50 feet
left of centerline to 50 feet right of centerline. Contouring was performed using various CAT
dozers. Material generated as the cut progressed was pushed down the slope.
Previously performed slope subgrade remediation was inspected and accepted, by an AMEC
representative, between stations J3+00 (+/-) and J4+00 (+/-), approximately 0 to 300 feet right
of centerline and between stations J6+00 (+/-) and J7+50 (+/-), approximately 0 to 300 feet
right of centerline.
F) Overburden to Stockpile
1) VLF
Oversize rock within the Phase 5 VLF fill area was removed from fill areas and hauled to the
overburden stockpile area east of the east perimeter road between stations A28+00 (+/-) to
A36+00 (+/-).
G) Cut to Fill
1) VLF
A John Deere 850 excavator and a CAT 385 excavator excavated structural fill material from
the following areas: between stations H2+00 (+/-) and H4+00 (+/-), approximately 0 to 100
feet right of centerline; between stations H6+00 (+/-) and H18+00 (+/-), approximately 100
feet left of centerline to 50 feet right of centerline; between stations H23+00 (+/-) and H31+00
(+/-), approximately 200 to 300 feet left of centerline; and between stations K0+00 (+/-) and
K2+00 (+/-), approximately 200 to 275 feet left of centerline. The structural fill material was
loaded into CAT 777 haul trucks.
Prior to structural fill placement, during periods of time when ambient temperatures were
below 327, fill areas were prepared and worked to bring the existing fill to or above 38°F.
Ambient and fill temperatures were monitored on an hourly basis, by an AMEC representative.
Fill temperatures averaged approximately 46°F during the period of time the ambient
temperature was below 32°F.
Structural fill material was placed in the following areas: between stations A41+00 (+/-) and
A44+00 (+/-), approximately 30 feet left of centerline to 50 feet right of centerline; between
stations A51+00 (+/-) and A61+50 (+/-), approximately 50 to 300 feet right of centerline;
between stations J3+00 (+/-) and J12+00 (+/-), approximately 450 feet left of centerline to 100
VLF Weekly Report WE 10.10.09.D
