Night shift suspended indefinitely by Ames on Tuesday <br />(10/6/2009). <br />CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES and PROGRESS: <br />II) EARTHWORKS <br />A) Clearing and Grubbing <br />1) VLF <br />No work performed during the week. <br />B) Stripping <br />1) VLF <br />No work performed during the week. <br />C) Topsoil Relocation <br />1) VLF <br />No work performed during the week. <br />D) Subgrade Preparation <br />1) VLF <br />Subgrade preparation was performed between stations A54+00 (+/-) and A61+00 (+/-), <br />approximately 200 to 275 feet right of centerline. A CAT D-8 dozer was used to rip the <br />subgrade surface to a depth of 6" to 8". The subgrade was then moisture conditioned using a <br />CAT 773 water tuck (when necessary) and compacted using a 10-ton vibratory smooth drum <br />compactor. The entire surface of the subgrade was compacted with at least 4-passes. This area <br />was inspected by an AMEC representative and accepted for structural fill placement. <br />VLF Weekly Report WE 10.10.09.D
