Banks and Gesso LLC
Exhibit D - Mining Plan
Overview
The Proctor Pit includes 50 acres in the mining and processing area and a one-acre
access road for a total of 51 acres in the permit boundary.
A portion (29.9 acres) of the proposed permit is now included in a Special Operations
permit M-2004-055 with a $75,000 financial warranty. Upon approval of this application
and acceptance of a new financial warranty, we request that the M-2004-055 permit be
terminated and the financial warranty be released and replaced 'by the new 112
warranty.
The existing affected area is approximately 13 acres and is labeled on the Pre-Mining
Plan Map (Exhibit C-1). The total affected area, including the access road, is
approximately 45.5 acres. The reclamation of the property will be done concurrently with
mining as mining progresses generally south. .
Methods of Mining
The existing disturbance from the Special Operations permit will serve as the initial
gravel plant and stockpile area. The material will be mined by front end loaders, which
will feed the crusher. The crushing and screening equipment will be portable and move
through the pit near the mining face.
Scrapers or front loaders will strip the overburden/topsoil of zero to four inches. The
overburden from the current stripping will be placed on the previous mined area for
reclamation. The existing road base reject stockpile on the east side of the pit will be
retained for reclamation. The existing overburden stockpile on the north side of the pit
will be used in initial reclamation prior to the import of other reclamation fill material.
No groundwater will be encountered by the mining. No surface water drainages pass
through the mining area, thus no diversions are necessary. The existing access road
crosses a broad drainage area (700 feet wide), which contains no defined channel or
flow route. Since the beginning of the Special Operations mine, no water has been
All-Rite Paving & Redi-Mix, Inc. . 09002
Proctor Pit 7 July, 2009
