use would have been at least 25 years ago. The area was traversed on foot to look for <br /> evidence of coal, signage, structures, or any sign of past disturbance. A black residue was <br /> noted over much of the area but appears to be volcanic-type ballast rock associated with the <br /> railroad. No structures of any kind are located at the site (below left). Some erosion and <br /> washing of the ballast material has occurred and resulted in deposition into the pasture to the <br /> west (right below). <br /> I <br /> The pasture to the west of the railroad siding appeared to be undisturbed and consisted of <br /> native vegetation with no discernable sign of past disturbance or reclamation. <br /> 4 <br />
