The Division Phase 1 Bond Release Findings (April 25, 2003) indicate that "this road will be
reclaimed when the monitoring well is no longer needed' and references a letter from the
Corley Company dated November 12, 2002. The road is not specifically identified in the
letter as the road to MW-65 but the letter states under item #3, "In 1983 Dorchester utilized
our property to access at least one exploratory drill hole on the Cribbs-Jackson property."
The permit application text on page 2.05.3-41 is in apparent disagreement with page 15 of
the SL-2 Findings for the Southfield Mine dated April 25, 2003.
Another road approved as permanent is the road to the Corley Mine well. Approved permit
page 2.05.3-41 indicates that this road will remain as a permanent road. A visit to the site
(photo below) finds that the portion of the road that crosses the pasture has been reclaimed,
apparently by request of the landowner (see item #4 of the Corley letter dated November 12,
2002). The Division's Phase I Bond Release Findings (April 25, 2003)found that this road
has been reclaimed. The permit text on page 2.05.3-41 is not accurate with regard to the
ultimate disposition of this road and the landowner's wishes.
Two short sections of road are located at the North dewatering well location; one to the well
itself(below left) and the other to the end of the waterline where water was discharged
(below right). The section of road to the end of the waterline has been successfully
reclaimed. The portion of road to the well remains as a road until the well is no longer
necessary for monitoring. Page 2.05.3-41 of the approved permit indicates that this road(s)
is not approved to be permanent and will be reclaimed. The Division's Phase I Bond
4
