Regular Board of County Commissioners Meeting - Grand County, Colorado <br />May 19, 2009 <br />Page 6 of 18 <br />The bid opening for the Granby Airport will be tomorrow. The County has not gotten the qualifications on the <br />Kremmling Airport. The County has not gotten verification from the consultant on which bid was appropriate. <br />There will be an apparent low bidder for Granby tomorrow, but then the bid will need to be checked against the <br />plans. <br />The State of Colorado CSU Extension Service will be reducing some of the employees. It may require more <br />sharing of extension agents. There will be 4 or 5 positions eliminated from CSU extension statewide. The <br />County pays one-third of the salary for the Grand County Extension Agent. <br />Blue Valley Ranch is going to finance a better sound system for the fairgrounds. It will be an audio system that <br />will transmit to specific areas. Ms. Underbrink Curran would like to send a letter of thanks to Blue Valley <br />Ranch. <br />The County is moving forward on the project on Berthoud Pass. The County is taking out the sand that comes <br />down in the spring from sanding the roads. Grand County will take the sand to the Benson Pit and it will be <br />blended with the material in the pit. <br />Housing Authority <br />The Board convened a special meeting of the Grand County Housing Authority. <br />Manager Items <br />Ms. Underbrink Curran stated that she got a call from Steve Smith of the Wilderness Society. He would like to <br />talk with Ms. Underbrink Curran about the Troublesome Wilderness Proposal. Ms. Underbrink Curran told the <br />Board that she would like Mr. Smith to instead appear before the Board and the Board agreed. <br />Mr. DiCola stated that he is waiting for a legal description of the trail on Tract M and is expecting that <br />information from the County Surveyor. <br />The Cottonwood Pass Road is working through the system. The Linkes filed a motion for a more definite <br />statement as to why they County believes it owns the road. <br />Mr. DiCola stated that he has a motion pending to put Fred Hess in jail. Mr. Penson stated that the work at his <br />building is finished. <br />Mr. DiCola stated that the County was named in a suit on the foreclosure of Coyote Creek by the Tabernash <br />Meadows Water and Sanitation. District. The County is named because it has a Water Quality Agreement and <br />because there is a Subdivision Improvement Agreement. No one is seeking specific relief from the County. <br />Mr. DiCola stated that he has a letter from Kent Whitmer that states that a couple of weeks ago the HOA Board <br />for Pole Creek Valley met with Road and Bridge to review the road situation. The HOA submitted bids and <br />contractor agreements. The cost is from $100,000 and $350,000. The HOA is asking for a workshop with the <br />Board of Commissioners on this matter. <br />Mr. Haynes stated that there are several places on County Road 5221 that are settling. <br />Highland Marina LLC 3.2 Percent Beer Retail License Renewal <br />Clerk and Recorder Sara Rosene stated that Laurel Anne Teitsma-Hedgecock, Manager/Owner of Highland <br />Marina, LLC is requesting renewal of the 3.2 percent Beer Retail License. Ms. Teitsma-Hedgecock has met the <br />requirements set forth by the state and Grand County. Ms. Rosene recommended approval of the renewal. <br />Commissioner Bumgamer moved to approve the renewal of the Highland Marina LLC 3.2 percent beer Retail <br />Liquor License. <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br />Municipal Solid Waste Disposal Decision - Final Deliberation
