Regular Board of County Commissioners Meeting - Grand County, Colorado <br />May 19, 2009 <br />Page 5 of 18 <br />County Treasurer Whitmer stated that she would like to look at different options for the counter in her office. <br />She had the door to her office eliminated to put a counter under the window for ADA requirements. Ms. <br />Whitmer stated that the size of the widow frame needs to be corrected. Mr. Ficken stated that he will look at the <br />office to understand what Ms. Whitmer needs. <br />Chairman Stuart stated that there seems to be a problem with power surges and she asked that power surge <br />protectors be installed. <br />Assessor Tom Weydert stated that he was expecting to see final drawings for his new space. He has seen the <br />conceptual drawings, but no final drawings. Mr. Ficken stated that he has not seen the final drawings either. <br />Mr. Weydert stated that there needs to be some common sense decisions made with regard to his office space. <br />Mr. Ficken stated that it would be a waste of effort to finalize the plans until some of the framing is up. <br />Commissioner Bumgarner stated that it sounds like there will be some flexibility once the framing is up. <br />Mr. Weydert stated that it has not been able to get information on how construction is progressing in the <br />Assessor's office. <br />Finance Director <br />Scott Berger, Finance Director, presented the Warrant Register and Expenditure List to be paid on May 20, <br />2009, for vendor payments. The list for this period was verified for the Board's approval. <br />Commissioner Bumgarner moved to approve and sign the General Warrants and Warrants for Social Services to <br />be paid on May 20, 2009. <br />The motion passed unanimously <br />Manager <br />County Manager Underbrink Curran presented the Board with a contract with Tetra Tech, Inc. for the Stream <br />Management Plan work on Lower Blue River in the amount of $85,709. Blue Valley Ranch is paying two- <br />thirds of the cost of the contract. Grand County is paying one-third of the cost. <br />Commissioner Newberry moved to authorize the Chair to sign the Services Contract between Grand County <br />Tetra Tech in amount $85,709. <br />Discussion: This is the total contract. Grand County will be paying one-third of the $85,709. <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br />Ms. Underbrink Curran presented the Board with a Services Contract between Grand County and Tetra Tech, <br />Inc. for Phase 3B of the Stream Management Plan. Denver Water and Northern have indicated that they will <br />each pay one-third of the Contact. The total cost of Phase 3B is $239,293 plus an additional $1,350 for <br />meetings and possible project team meetings in the amount $4,274. <br />Commissioner Newberry moved to approve the Services Contract between Grand County and Tetra Tech, Inc. <br />to conduct field work associated with Phase 3B of the Stream Management Plan in an amount not to exceed <br />$245,000. <br />Discussion: Ms. Underbrink Curran stated that Grand County is into the Stream Management Plan in the <br />amount of approximately $1,000,000. This will not pay for the implementation. Commissioner Bumgarner <br />thanked the County Manager for all her work on this. <br />The motion passed unanimously. <br />County representatives went to the surplus sale at DIA last week. The County bid on a sweeper for the Granby <br />Airport. It is a $20,000 piece of machinery and the County bid $20,000. The County received an offsetting <br />grant from CDOT in the amount of $10,000.
