Inspection Report - Problem 2 <br />Canada thistle was observed in several areas within the mill site. <br />Inspection Report - Corrective Action <br />The operator must within 30 days submit documentation of the treatment of Canada thistle and <br />other noxious weeds at the site. <br />Operator Response - Statement of treatment of Canada thistle <br />July 23, 2009 <br />The Leadville Mill has conducted 4 separate spot spray applications to the Canada thistle and <br />other noxious weeds at the mill site. The applications were made during the heat of the day, and <br />repeated if it rained within 24 hours of the application. <br />All spraying was conducted using a hand sprayer filled with commercially available weed killer. <br />The areas sprayed included the areas immediately adjacent to and between the mill buildings. <br />Additionally, the areas along the lower road and the TSF were sprayed. This was the largest <br />infestation of Canada thistle and noxious weeds. <br />The picture below is presented as indicative of the spraying program. <br />[Insert DEAD weed pics]
