ame <br />Earth & Environmental <br />C) Cut to Fill <br />1) LOB Delivery Road <br />All cut to fill has been completed on the LOB Delivery Road. Between stations 14+00 (+/-) <br />and 16+00 (+/-) the LOB Delivery Road is to grade. <br />2) LOB Conveyor Corridor <br />Structural fill placement was completed on Saturday at Transfer Station #4. The material was <br />placed with in the method specification and compacted in 2-foot lifts using a CAT 563 <br />vibratory smooth drum compactor. Structural fill material was hauled from the LOB Delivery <br />Road cut areas using the Volvo A40D haul trucks. The structural fill material was spread <br />using one Cat D-6 dozer. Ambient and fill temperatures were monitored during fill placement. <br />No frozen materials were placed. <br />D) MSE Walls <br />1) MSE Wall #3 (Transfer Station #6) <br />The first through the fifth Hilfiker reinforcing mat, Hilfiker Wall Backfill, epoxy coated steel <br />mesh, Hilfiker Face Rock, and all required CPT perforated drain pipe continued throughout the <br />week. Compaction of the Hilfiker Wall Backfill was tested by Nuclear Methods (ASTM D- <br />2922 & 3017) indicating passing tests around 96% to 98% of Modified Proctor (ASTM D- <br />1557). Moisture contents were at or near optimum. The wall was completed on Saturday. <br />Ambient and fill temperatures were monitored during fill placement. No frozen materials were <br />placed. <br />E) AGOSA (Arequa Gulch Overburden Storage Area) Material Processing <br />Material processing was performed intermediately throughout the week. <br />Processing of Drain Cover Fill from material delivered by CC&V Mine is complete. Drain cover <br />fill to be used for the LOB Pad. <br />F) Miscellaneous <br />Placement of approximately 34 cubic yards of transit mixed concrete was placed on Thursday at <br />the retaining wall located in Conveyor Transfer Station #4. Three concrete cylinders were cast for <br />quality assurance testing. <br />II) Underground Working <br />A) Drilling <br />No work performed during shift. <br />B) Mine Shaft/Stope Remediation <br />Underground working 2036, located within the planned LOB Conveyor Transfer Station #5: The <br />remaining cut work has been completed to expose the remainder of the shaft and stope. Remedial <br />work will start next week. <br />Underground working 2030 (Raven upper tunnel) located within the LOB Delivery Road: As the <br />cut advanced the working was backfilled (for safety) with 24-inch minus rocl'c. It is anticipated the <br />shaft will be removed once the LOB Delivery road is nearing final grade. <br />Sheet 2 of 9 <br />LOB Weekly Report WE 04.25.09.D.doc
