amen
Earth 8 Environmental
Structural fill was placed between stations K5+00 (+/-) and K9+00 (+/-), approximately 75 to
100 feet left of centerline. Structural fill was placed using CAT dozers in 18" to 24" lifts
(based on rock size). Moisture conditioning of the fill was performed using a CAT 773-water
truck. Each lift was compacted with a CAT 563 smooth drum vibratory compactor passing
over the entire surface at least 4 times (method compaction technique is applicable).
Slope scaling was performed at the A-line cut area using a CAT 345 excavator.
Blast pattern drilling was performed between stations A10+00 (+/-) and A11+50 (+/-),
approximately 0 to 30 feet left of centerline using two track mounted drill rigs.
F) Material Processing
1) South Cresson Clay Processing Area
Processing of Soil Liner Fill material continued at the South Cresson Clay Process. A CAT D-
6 dozer, a CAT 320 excavator, and a CAT 966 front-end loader were used to process the
material.
Location hi s)Week Coumulative Comments
So Cresson Clay Processing 4,211 36,985

Squaw Gulch Processing
-
35,816 Processin in area com lete.
Total 0 68,180
G) Miscellaneous
Installation of the LOB Storm Water Culverts was completed using a CAT 345 excavator, a
jumping jack compactor, and a walk-behind sheep's foot compactor. Sixty-four feet of 42" CMP
culvert was installed for both culverts. A CAT 345 track excavator was used to excavate a trench
for the culvert installation and 6" of pipe bedding material was placed in the trench bottom. The
pipe bedding material was moisture conditioned and compacted using a walk-behind sheep's foot
compactor. Pipe bedding material was used to backfill each side and between the culverts in 12"
compacted lifts, bringing the backfill up evenly. The material was moisture conditioned and
compacted using a jumping jack compactor and a walk behind sheep's foot compactor. The area
was backfilled to two-feet above to installed culverts. Eleven nuclear density tests were performed
using with results averaging 96% of maximum dry density. Moisture-density relations were
performed in accordance with ASTM D-698-07. Riprap was placed at the inlet of the culvert
installation.
III) Underground Working
A) Drilling
No work performed during the week.
B) Mine Shaft/Stope Remediation
No work performed during the week.
C) Lateral/Slot Remediation
No work performed during the week.
Sheet 3 of 7
VLF Weekly Report WE 06.27.09.D.doc
