West Elk Mine 2008 Annual Hydrology Report 33 <br />• 3.2.5.4 Spring J-2 <br />Spring J-2 is located in Lick Creek which is tributary to Minnesota Creek (Map 2). It is located <br />south of the SOD mine plan area that will be developed between 2015 and 2017. The source of <br />this spring appears to issue from colluvium. Baseline monthly monitoring of Spring J-2 began in <br />the spring of 2006 and included measuring flow, collecting field water quality data, and collecting <br />samples for laboratory water quality analyses from May through October 2006 (CDRMS, 2006) <br />Routine monitoring (three times per year) at this location began in WY 2007. <br />3.2.5.5 Spring J-7 <br />Spring J-7 is located in Poison Gulch which is tributary to Dry Fork (Map 2). It is within the SOD <br />mine plan area that is scheduled for development between years 2009 and 2011. The source of this <br />spring appears to issue from alluvium. Baseline monitoring of Spring J-7 began in the spring of <br />2006 and included measuring flow, collecting field water quality data, and collecting samples for <br />laboratory water quality analyses from May through October 2006 (CDRMS, 2006). Routine <br />monitoring at this location began in WY 2007. <br />3.2.6 Spring Monitoring Sites Added in WY 2007 <br />3.2.6.1 96-2-2 Area Spring <br />The 96-2-2 Area Spring is located in upper Deep Creek which is tributary to the North Fork (Map <br />2). This spring is located in the SOD mine plan area that is scheduled for development between <br />years 2009 and 2012. The source of this spring appears to issue from alluvium. Baseline <br />monitoring of 96-2-2 Area Spring began in the spring of 2007 and included measuring flow, <br />collecting field water quality data, and collecting samples for laboratory water quality analyses <br />from May through October 2007 (CDRMS, 2006). Routine monitoring at this location commenced <br />in WY 2008. <br />3.2.6.2 Deep Creek Spring 2 <br />Deep Creek Spring 2 is located in upper Deep Creek which is tributary to the North Fork (Map 2). <br />This spring is located in the SOD mine plan area that is scheduled for development between years <br />2009 and 2013. The source of this spring appears to issue from alluvium. Baseline monitoring of <br />Deep Creek Spring 2 began in the spring of 2007 and included measuring flow, collecting field <br />water quality data, and collecting samples for laboratory water quality analyses from May through <br />October 2007 (CDRMS, 2006). Routine monitoring at this location commenced in WY 2008. <br />3.2.6.3 Deep Creek Trail Spring <br />Deep Creek Trail Spring is located in upper Deep Creek which is tributary to the North Fork (Map <br />2). This spring is located in the SOD mine plan area that is scheduled for development between <br />June 2009 HydroGeo, Inc.
