amec
Earth $ Environmental
B) Cut to Fill
1) LOB Delivery Road
Oversize material was placed beyond the end of the LOB Delivery Road (beyond station
44+47.34).
Finish grading of the entire LOB Delivery Road width was performed between stations 4+00
(+/-) and 14+00 (+/-) and beyond station 44.47.34. Finer grained materials from the Delivery
Road cut areas were placed in 4" to 12" lifts using a CAT D-8 dozer.
2) LOB Conveyor Corridor/Transfer Station
Drilling of a blast pattern just north of the Transfer Station #5 (Conveyor Corridor #3) was
completed using one track mounted drill rig. This area was shot on Wednesday.
Excavation at Conveyor Corridor #3 began Thursday using a CAT 375 excavator, after
Underground Workings in the area were inspected. The excavated material was cast just to the
west of the excavation.
II) Underground Working
A) Drilling
Confirmatory drilling was completed using one to two track mounted rigs north of Underground
Working #2016 on the southern edge of the LOB Delivery Road. An AMEC field representative
monitored the drilling. Verbal direction was given from John Lupo to collapse the crown pillar by
blasting. A written remediation plan will follow next week.
The area where the possible Underground Working #2041 was located, was excavated using a
CAT 320 excavator. The area was excavated to a depth of 8 feet and no indication of an
Underground Working was found.
B) Mine Shaft/Stope Remediation
A CAT 320 track excavator attempted to clean out and open up Underground Working #2040 after
the blast in the area. Excavation was performed to approximately 10 feet in depth at the location
where shaft was previously backfilled and observed by AMEC. The shaft did not open up and it is
possible that the blast in the area collapsed the shaft. This area will be inspected once excavation in
the area is complete.
III) Storm Water Management Structures
A) Best Management Practices (BMP)
Silt fencing has been put in place and Best Management Practices are being observed throughout
the LOB project.
Sheet 2 of 8
LOB Weekly Report WE 06.06.09.D.doc
