(vi) Typical mining or in-situ development sequence, with appropriate timeframes
Work on site began in 2006 with environmental assessments and continued in 2007 with the
locating of existing section corner monuments, marking the Lease corners, and conducting aerial
photography and mapping.
Phase I, currently in progress, will establish site-specific geo-hydrologic conditions of the mining
interval and the strata immediately above and below the mining interval. A summary of the
monitoring and exploration wells is presented in Section (4a)g). Phase I includes constructing
four well pads (Test Pad, TM Pad, HB Pad, and MWP 2 Pad). The MWP 1 Pad was pre-
existing.
Phase II will start with the In-Situ Pilot Retort Test described in detail in this POD. This Pilot
Test will use a combination of a deviated heater-producer test well, T-1, as shown schematically
in Figure 4-4, and up to six tomography wells for monitoring cavity growth. A detailed schedule
for the Pilot Test is given in Appendix 4-5.
0
0
47
