• Monitor weather conditions, particularly wind direction, cold, heat, and lightning <br />conditions as they could affect the safety and health of workers and because they could <br />affect potential exposure. <br />• Be aware of the amount of solar radiation that exposed skin is receiving. Take steps to <br />minimize the potential for sunburn. <br />• Operate a vehicle only if you are a licensed driver. Seatbelts inust be worn when <br />operating or driving a vehicle on company business. <br />• Drive vehicles in a safe manner and obey traffic regulations. <br />• Contact the SSHO if contact with human body fluids occurs during the administration of <br />first aid. <br />• Any employee under a physician's care and/or taking prescribe medication must notify <br />the SSHO. <br />• Personnel are required to be familiar with site access controls, security rules, and <br />emergency procedures. <br />• During the implementation of activities onsite, site access will be limited to only those <br />individuals that are necessary to perform the required tasks. <br />• All personnel entering the project site, including AMSO subcontractors and visiting <br />personnel, must abide by the safety mules and procedures as described in the SHP and <br />SSHP, if prepared. <br />Personnel will adhere to the following guidelines to minimize contact with contaminants: <br />• Consciously minimize contact with potentially contaminated material. <br />• Refrain from walking through suspected contaminated liquid or soil. <br />• Avoid higher contamination areas unless entrance is required. <br />• Use remote handling devices when practical. <br />• Cover tools and equipment when taking into known or suspected contaminated areas. <br />• Minimize the generation of any potentially hazardous waste. <br />• Put nothing in mouth or on face when in a known or suspected contaminated area. <br />• Wash immediately if visible contamination is on the skin. <br />• 5.3 Safety Procedures for Selected Equipment
