3.1.2 (Drugs, Alcohol, and Weapons • <br />Weapons of any kind are strictly forbidden by AMSO on company and leased property. This <br />policy includes large knives, hunting knives, or any other potentially harmful object, homemade <br />or otherwise. Employees found in the possession of weapons will be subject to corrective action <br />up to and including termination of employment. The use, possession, solicitation for, offer for <br />sale of alcohol, trade or sale of narcotics or other illegal drugs, alcohol, or prescription <br />medication without a prescription is strictly forbidden by AMSO on both company and :leased <br />property. Any actions influenced by or indicating the use of drugs or alcohol will not be <br />tolerated. If an employee is found in the possession of drugs or alcohol or under the influence of <br />drugs or alcohol while on the job, several courses of action may be taken by the employee's <br />immediate supervisor, including but not limited to: immediate termination, mandatory <br />rehabilitation programs, and suspension without pay. <br />Prescription and over-the-counter drugs are not prohibited when taken in standard dosage <br />and/or according to a physician's prescription. Any employee taking prescribed or over-the- <br />counter medications will be responsible for consulting the prescribing physician and/or <br />pharmacist to ascertain whether the medication may interfere with safe performance of his/her <br />job. If the use of a medication could compromise the safety of the employee, fellow employee's <br />or the public, it is the employee's responsibility to use appropriate personnel procedures (e.g., <br />call in sick, use leave, request change of duty, notify supervisor) to avoid unsafe workplace <br />practices. If a prescription drug may impair the completion of the employee's normal duties, it <br />will be the supervisor's responsibility to initiate a suitable course of action. <br />The illegal or unauthorized use of prescription drugs is prohibited. It is a violation of our drug-• <br />free workplace policy to intentionally misuse and/or abuse prescription medications. <br />Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken if job performance deterioration and/or other <br />accidents occur. <br />3.1.3 Behavior-Based Safety Observation Process <br />AMSO's Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) observation process will be in effect at all job sites. The <br />process is designed to support recognition of unsafe practices, facilitate problem solving and <br />resolution of safety concerns, and promote continuous improvement. The process is <br />implemented by employees conducting observations and providing feedback on safety practice; .
