State Rea.
• designated as Area B, D, and E. Angering at Area B, located
in the W= of Section 2, T5N, RB7W began in June 1984 and was
crn~leted in January 1985. Except for approximately 34 acres,
reclamation grading has been oot~leted in the area.
Auger operations at Area D along the west side of the Wolf
Creek pit, located i.rt the NF}; of Section 2, T5N, R87W,
oottnnenced in December 1983, temporarily used operations in
March 1984 and then o~leted mining in January 1985. All of
this area will be reclaimed ~ November 24, 1986.
Auger mining at Area E, located in the E2 of Section 11 and
SW; of Section 12, T5N, R87W, occurred frwn October 1983 to
January 1984 and in March aryl April of 1985. Additional
Isrtrtox and Wadge seam angering occurred in 1987. The area to
be angered is indicated on Exhibit 12-1A. All aspects of this
angering operation are described in Appendix 12-3.
• the disturbance at the Wadge West pit, which includes Auger
Area E, existing at the end of 1987, consists of a final
highwall to be reduced and associated spoil that has been
graded to resemble a pit that would require double highwall
reduction. At the solid waste area, existirx3 fill material
present on both sides of the site will require grading.
Auger Area E had been identified as a portal location for an
underground operation which was to oczRmienoe after the con~letion
of the recovery of surface reserves at Seneca II. The
underground reserves, referred to as Caw Camp, consist of
reserves held by Peabody in Federal Lease C-088199 (Peabody
sublease froth Grassy Creek Coal Caaq~any), State Lease 235-135
{Peabody sublease fran Morgan Goal Company), State Leases 597-135
and 598-135 (Peabody leasers frran the State of Colorado) , and a
private lease held by P~aabody frwn W.R. Grace. Figure 12-a shows
the extent of the Caw Camp reserves in relation to the current
Seneca II permit area.
12-12 Revised 10/17/94
