Area 26: Area 26 is a parcel 5.57 acres in size and was seeded in 199. This parcel was interseeded in 1998. This parcel is
also relatively flat and drains to the north. Vegetation on Area 26 was in very good condition with no weedy patches or bare
areas observed.(Photo 2)
Photo 3: Reclaimed parcel 28 looking East Photo 4: Reclaimed parcel 24 looking NW
Area 28: Area 28 is situated immediately west of Sediment Pond No. 2. The area drains to the east to the pond. Area 28 is
1.36 acres, and was seeded in 1995. The vegetation is lush, is dominated by Bromegrass, and shows no sign of weeds or
bare areas. No problems were observed on this parcel. (Photo 3)
Area 24: Area 24 is a long narrow parcel of 9.75 acres in the northwest extent of the permit area. This area was seeded in
1995 and is bordered by undisturbed natural area and the western permanent ditch runs along the northeast side of this
parcel. A patch of Tamarisk had previously been managed with mechanical means. This weed control was effective and no
sprouting of the dead root crowns could be seen. The old trunks were left on site for small animal habitat. No other weed
patches or bare areas were noted in this parcel. A higher frequency of Cheatgrass(Bromus tecrorum)was noted adjacent to
the west ditch. There is enough perennial cover and diversity in this parcel that this Cheatgrass presence is not too much of
a concern.
