Miscellaneous
Work continued on the 9775 VLF bench widening on the existing Phase IV VLF for the
planned relocation of the existing solution lines. Widening of the bench and laying the
slopes back to an approximate 2H: IV. Excess ore transported to the Phase IV ore heap
using 4-Volvo haul trucks.
II. Underground Working
A. Drilling
Within the planned sediment pond, conformation drilling for underground working 3001 is
complete. Conformation drilling of both the north and south sides of the existing working
were witnessed. Eight holes were drilled to depths of 50-feet. No voids were found to the
depths explored. All holes were located on 4-foot centers and 4-feet from the edge of the
known shaft opening.
B. Mine Shaft/Stope Remediation
Underground working 3001: The shaft was excavated to a depth of 25-feet using a CAT
345 track excavator. Once excavated, oversize stockpiled boulders were then placed at the
bottom of the excavation. Finer excavated material (-12 to 24-inch) was then placed in
loose lifts and compacted with the excavator bucket to a depth of 9-feet from finished
grade (bottom of SLF). All excavation slopes were then sloped to a 1V-1.5V: 1H slope.
All work to date conforms to the Underground Working Remediation Plan, dated February
27, 2009. Remaining remediation work: Cemented rock cap or concrete cap and structural
fill to bottom of SLF grade.
C. Lateral/Slot Remediation
No work performed during the week
III.
