<br />amec <br />Earth & Environmental <br />CQA ACTIVITIES: <br />SUMMARY: <br />The CQA activities performed consisted of observing, documenting and recording the construction <br />activities of the contractor. Field observations within the northwest portion of the VLF included stripping <br />of all frozen and unsuitable materials and placement of structural fill using the method specification as <br />outlined in the Project Documents. Fill placement during the week was intermittent due to the LOB <br />Delivery Road work being the major activity. <br />Remediation work on underground working 3001, located within the bottom of the sediment pond. <br />A temporary access route to the mine via the VLF PSSA Haul Road was constructed. <br />Between stations K10+00 (+/-) and K4+50 (+/-) the VLF PSSA Haul Road fill is complete. <br />SLF processing located in SGOSA Dump 5 has resumed operation on Wednesday. <br />The materials processing plant located in AGOSA was re-located southeast of the sub-station. Processing <br />Drain Cover Fill from material delivered by CC&V Mine. <br />The mine has been transporting unprocessed clay to the South Cresson clay stockpile. <br />Work has continued on the 9775 bench widening for the relocation of the existing solution piping. Work <br />has focused on the bench widening and back sloping of the existing ore heap. <br />Testing Summary <br />Laboratory testing continues (Gradations, Atterberg Limit, and Moisture-Density Relationships) for <br />previously sampled materials, throughout the shift. Permeability testing continues at an off-site <br />laboratory. Samples of clay were taken for analysis and testing from the South Cresson stockpile and <br />SGOSA Dump 5 clay-processing areas. Testing is in progress. <br />GENERAL PROJECT ITEMS <br />Summary of Concerns: <br />No Concerns <br />Summary of Planning Items: <br />Work will commence on structural fill placement in the VLF. <br />Ames will continue to produce SLF from the SGOSA Dump 5 clay process screening plant. <br />Continue the 9775 bench widening. <br />Complete the remediation work for underground working 3001. <br />Summary of Non-conformances: <br />None Issued <br />Summary of Meetings and Discussions: <br />CC& V.• <br />CC&V held a Weekly Contractors' meeting on April 7, 2009. Items discussed included Safety, <br />Environmental, Schedule, QC documentation, and CQA. <br />Ames Construction: <br />Daily safety meetings are performed prior to each shift. These meetings also discuss work areas, <br />procedures, testing requirements, etc with the Ames supervisors. <br />AMEC: <br />Derek Witter, P.E., Project Manager - General project status. John Lupo, P.E. was on site Tuesday and <br />Wednesday to review the work progress and to assist in the underground working remediation work. <br />Sheet 4 of 8 <br />VLF Weekly Report WE 04.11.09.1)
