If determined appropriate by CC&V, site documentation (with <br />photos and maps) would be completed prior to relocation or disturbance. <br />This structure is within the proposed Phase 5 VIT extension footprint. <br />• <br />', ? q/s-Iqi-- <br />The Anchoria-Leland Kline is located in the NW quarter of Section 19 along the western flank of <br />Gold Hill. The Gold Hill area was one of the earliest areas to be explored with numerous claims <br />staked by 1894. Even by 1892 the Anchoria Leland Mining and Milling Company owned <br />several mines in the area. <br />The Anchoria-Leland Mine, site 5TL344, was originally recorded in 1987 and it appears there <br />has been no subsequent site documentation. The archaeological surveys completed in the 1990"' <br />by Western Cultural Resource Management and Paragon Archaeological Consultants did not <br />-tl cover the western portion of Gold Hill. <br />The Anchoria-Leland headframe (or `allows frame) is the last large historic headframe structure <br />remaining in the Gold Hill area that is visible from the town of Cripple Creek. The structure <br />measures approximately 23 ft. x 65 ft. (including diagonal braces) and stands approximately 60 <br />ft. tall. <br />The other structures remainim, at the Anchoria-Leland Mine include a large ore sorting house, a <br />hoist house, and a smaller sorting house or ore bin. Most support features appear to be in poor <br />condition and may not he candidates for relocation.
