• Additional monitoring will occur in the Grassy Valley to evaluate potential hydrologic
and hydrochemical impacts to Grassy Valley during mining. This monitoring will include
the following.
• During mining, monitoring of the piezometers in upper Grassy Valley (P-1
through P-4) monthly for depth of water throughout the growing season (May
through October) and quarterly for water quality
• Monitoring of existing wells GVMW-8A and GVMW-8B monthly for depth of
water and field parameters (pH, temperature and specific conductance) and
quarterly for water quality
• Monitoring wells to be designated near the toe of the ECOSA to be monitored
monthly for depth of water and field parameters (pH, temperature and specific
conductance) and quarterly for water quality

u
1?1
Ground water may not be encountered in some wells completed to within a few hundred
feet of the surface. In these cases, monitoring will be limited to checking water levels
(i.e., checking for the presence of water) and samples will not be analyzed unless
sufficient water is encountered to allow sampling and analysis of non-turbid water.
Table 10-2
Ground Water Monitoring Sites
Site Number Location Monitoring Frequency
CRMW-3A, -3B Arequa Gulch - Downgradient Quarterly
SGMW-5 Squaw Gulch - Downgradient Quarterly
VIN-2A, -213 Vindicator Valley - Downgradient Quarterly
GVMW-8A, Grassy Valley - Downgradient Depth and field parameters (pH,
GVMW-813 temperature and specific conductance)
monitored on a monthly basis.
Quarterly for water quality
P-1, P-2, P-3, P-4 Upper Grassy Valley Depth and field parameters (pH,
temperature and specific conductance)
monitored on a monthly basis during
growing season.
Quarterly for water quality
WCMW-6 Wilson Creek - Downgradient Quarterly
PGMW-2 Poverty Gulch - Downgradient Quarterly
ESPMW-1 ESP - Downgradient Quarterly - pH and WAD CN
To be determined ECOSA - Downgradient Monthly - depth and field parameters
Quarterly for water quality
Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension
10-3
