• followed by an application of one pore volume of H2O2 treated water. The rinsing is
followed by a period of water sampling to determine whether the water quality is
acceptable. The objective is to achieve an average of less than 0.2 mg/l CNWAD in the
rinsate. Based on CC&V's experience and reviewing other facilities, it is believed
detoxification can be properly achieved using two pore volumes of water and that the one
pore volume of H2O2 treated water will be unnecessary; however, the financial warranty
continues to contain all three pore volumes as CC&V has not made a presentation to
OMLR for an alternative. Current CC&V operating costs (2008) have been used to
establish water handling costs in this estimate.
12.8 Summary
Financial warranty requirements for reclamation of the Cresson Project, inclusive of
MLE disturbances, at full implementation have been determined. The total financial
warranty is estimated to be approximately $97.5 million for life-of-mine activities. The
overall costs will be incrementally posted as disturbances occur.
•
• Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company
Cresson Project Mine Life Extension
12-6
