a
Adr%
ame
Earth & Environmental
II. Underground Working
A. Drilling
Rockbreakers has completed the drilling of conformation holes in the LOB Pad adjacent to
underground working 2019. A total of 14 holes were drilled to a depth of 50-feet. 2-drill
holes indicate a "void" between 10 and 16-feet and 24 to 31-feet. The holes are located 4-
feet from the open edge of the existing shaft. The additional 5 holes drilled on 4-foot
centers did not encounter any "voids". For underground working 2020, 7 drill holes
located on 4-foot centers at the edge of the proposed liner which resulted in no "voids"
found. Drill holes were advanced to a 50-foot depth.
B. Mine Shaft/Stope Remediation
Remediation work for underground working 2039 located within the planned conveyor
alignment 1. From conveyor transfer station 4, the working is located down slope.
Progress this week has been good with the transport of oversize rock from the LOB
Delivery Road blasting and rock from the VLF sediment pond. An additional 39 loads,
using Volvo haul trucks; of coarse shaft backfill has been transported to the site for
additional backfill. Based on "rough" measurements the contractor is close to elevation
9780, or the start of the geogrid as outlined in the remediation plan. All drill holes within
the Geomembrane lined area have been grouted with a mixture of 50# of bentonite to 50
gallons of water.
Lateral/Slot Remediation
No work performed this week.
III. Stormwater Management Structures
A. LOB Stormwater Culverts
No work performed this week.
B. Roadside ditch
No work performed this week.
C. Best Management Practices (BMP)
No work performed this week. Existing silt fencing structures appear to be in good
condition.
IV. LOB Geosynthetics
A. LLDPE Geomembrane 80 and 100 mil LLDPE
Lone Star (Installer): Submittal is pending approval. Additional information is required.
The crew has completed MSHA training this week. Work will begin the following week
for the water storage pond (not part of contract). Additional required information for
approval will be obtained at that time.
Sheet 3 of 11
LOB Weekly Report WE 04.04.09.13
