{ ,
amec
Earth & Environmental
C. Waste Rock to Stockpile
1. LOB Pad
• Ames worked in the LOB Pad area to stockpile excavated material for fill
placement in the LOB/Delivery Road between Station 34+50 to 38+00 left
of centerline. Generally, Ames used the Komatsu 800 or 385 excavator and
a dozer in the pad area for stockpiling.
2. LOB/delivery Road
• Intermittent stockpiling of cut along the delivery road occurred during the
week from Station 24+00 to 35+00.
• Ames worked intermittently to widen the construction access up to the Joe
Dandy slash pile. This work was not completed by the end of the week.
D. Cut to Fill
1. LOB Pad
• No Activities
2. LOB/Delivery Road
• Ames continued fill placement for the LOB/Delivery Road from Station
34+50 to 38+00 75 to 100-feet left of centerline. Fill placement continued
with approximate 24-inch loose fill lifts and compaction using the method
specification determined the prior week. Ames completed ramps into the fill
location and began using 3 Volvo A40D trucks to transport fill material.
• Amec continued observation of fill placement during the week. Fill
placement was observed to progress with no issues. The Contractor
maintained relatively uniform lifts thickness, moisture conditioning of lifts
and cutting of key-ins. Over size material was pushed outside the fill limit.
E. Subgrade Preparation
1. LOB Pad
• No Activities
F. SLF Processing (Material is being generated/processed for the LOB and the VLF)
1. Production of the SLF material continued intermittently at the Dump 5 clay
processing plant located at the North end of the LOB/Delivery Road.
Production was limited due to mechanical breakdowns.
2. Ames started setup of a second screening/processing plant located in the
VLF (VLF Materials Processing Plant) but was not completed by the end of
the week. This plant will not be processing SLF.
Sheet 2 of 10
LOB Weekly Report WE 02.21.09
