The
pond embankment was well vegetated and appeared to be stable at the time of
the inspection. No erosional problems noted on the embankment at the time of the
inspection.
- The Prospect Pond (NPDES 007A) contained a small amount of water but was not
discharging at the time of the inspection. The pond embankment was covered with
snow but appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. There were no
erosional problems noted on the pond embankment. The operator has completed
the cleaning of the pond, as required. Although there was a small amount of water
in the pond, it appears as though the operator has done a thorough job cleaning the
pond. In addition to cleaning the pond, the operator also replaced some riprap at
the inlet of the pond and armored a portion of the inslope of the pond at the inlet
side. The completion of this work will result in the Division terminating Notice of
Violation CV-2008-004. Please see the pictures at the end of this report.
- The Gulch A Pond (NPDES 004A) appeared to be dry at the time of the inspection
(although the bottom of the pond was covered with snow, so there may have been
a small amount of water in the pond). The pond embankment was covered with a
few inches of snow but appeared to be well vegetated and stable at the time of the
inspection. There were no erosional problems noted on the pond embankment at
the time of the inspection.
- The Section 16 Pond (NPDES 009) was inaccessible and not inspected (and will
probably remain inaccessible until late spring.
- The Streeter Pond (NPDES 001 A) contained water approximately one foot below the
top of the discharge pipe and was discharging a small amount out of the weep hole.
The pond embankment was covered with a few inches of snow but appeared to be
well vegetated and stable at the time of the inspection. There were no erosional
problems noted on the pond embankment at the time of the inspection. The Streeter
Pond was recently cleaned (following the cleaning of the Prospect Pond). The
operator did a good job cleaning the inlet and presettling areas of the pond. - The
Section 28 Pond (NPDES 012A) was not inspected because of the snow cover on the
Sturgeon road.
- Sump 1 was not inspected.
- Sump 2 was full but was not discharging at the time of the inspection. The sump
was stable at the time of the inspection.
- Sump 3 was full but was not discharging at the time of the inspection.
