Exhibit E, Reclamation Plan
Rule 6.4.5
Section 1, General Reclamation Plan:
Staff suggests that the operator reconsider wording in the mine plan and reclamation plans. Current affected
areas are estimated to be 9.4 acres initially. However, if other areas are developed an amendment with all the
same requirements currently under review would be necessary. If the wording was changed to the "first phase"
will disturb 9.4 of a possible 48.38 acres of disturbance any modifications to the mine and reclamation plans
would be technical revisions. This would save considerable time and expense for the operator plus not require
any additional public comment periods.
The reclamation plan does not give any details for the reclamation of the ore bin / office area other than removal
of the bins and office. Please submit additional information for reclamation of this area. DRMS has requested
additional information within Exhibit T for this area in relation to reclamation as well.
Section 2, Pit and knob
If concurrent reclamation is revised please revise this section to note reclamation will be completed upon
termination of excavation. Please note that 0.2 acres may not be sufficient to hold all rock waste until
reclamation commences. Also it is noted that a road is blocked by the stockpiled materials and remains so after
reclamation. Please provide details that this is acceptable to the landowner.
Section 3, Exploration
300 drill holes are noted for reclamation but not described in the mine plan. Please clarify.
Section 4, reseeding:
(a) There are no details on what hazardous or dangerous adits, shafts, and erodible roads and trails will be
reclaimed. Please provide details.
The Mine plan states less than 5 acres will be disturbed. However in the reclamation plan it specifically notes
3.2 acres. Please clarify is staff to assume 5 acres or the 3.2?
(b).The seed mix is noted as being acceptable to DRMS.
(c) DRMS recommends submitting a formal plan for the control of knapweed for the site. If in the future
knapweed is observed within or along road ways or disturbances in the permit area a technical Revision adding
in the plan will be required.
(d) DRMS notes the area has limited cover. The general policy is for reclamation vegetation to be equal to or
better than surrounding non-disturbed areas. A 40% cover criteria may be too rigid of a goal. Staff
4
