EXHIBIT C
Mining Plan
Grasser Construction & Paving, LLC (Applicant) Stewart Pit R
A. Mining for aggregates will start in the spring of 2009. Mining of aggregates will go on and off
during the year as construction materials are needed. There should be enough material to last 10 years
until the year 2019.
B. The estimated topsoil depth is approximately 4" - 6". We will strip topsoil and stockpile it as
we begin mining. As the operations move, we will start the reclamation process. We will place
overburden where stripped on area that is finished mining and place topsoil on top.
C. Overburden is approximately 8" - 2' in depth. There will be no wasted rocks on project.
D. The deposits that will be mined range from 8' - 13' in depth.
E. We are going to make a new entrance and a new access route to the pit. There will be no offices
or shop/maintenance buildings there. There might be a portable cement or asphalt plant setup if work
is permitted in the area.
F. Disturbance dimensions to the land surface will be contained in mining permit area and those
dimensions are 490' x 700' with a leg of 390' x 225' as shown on exhibit maps.
G. We will put culverts in the ditches coming off of the county road to the permitted area. There
are no existing roads to the site now. The proposed road will come off County Road 26 and will go
directly to permitted site. The proposed road to the site will be 20' wide and 70' long and then it will
be on the mining site. The culvert size is a 24". It is more than double the size needed to drain 1 acre
of land figuring a 25 year storm. The culvert will be draining the runoff from the county road allowing
it to continue to flow downhill.
H. Proposed site is a dry site. No dewatering is needed and no water is required for mining. The
only thing water would be needed for is dust control. With the small amount of mining going on, I
don't foresee the need for dust control but if it is necessary, the water would come from the Town of
Stratton. One load (4000 gals) a working day would be sufficient.
1. No ground water will be encountered. Water levels in the area are a minimum of 300' depth.
There should be no surface water intercepted as mining area is on top of a hill. We will put a berm
around the permitted area to divert any surface water crated by rain so that it will go around area. No
chemicals will be used at location.
J. We will be complying with Colorado water laws and regulations on existing water rights. We
will not be in any underground water tables or using any water for the purpose of mining. There are no
waterways in the permitted area.
