topsoil be replaced. Our experience is that more topsoil salvaged and replaced will
provide for a better chance of successful revegetation establishment, lead to a more
successful reclamation, and ultimately a quicker final release of the site. Also no
information is given as to the size and type of trees that will be replaced in the Stage 1
area to correspond with those shown on the Reclamation Plan Map, please provide this
information.
6.4.6 EXHIBIT F - Reclamation Plan Map
This section is adequate as submitted.
6.4.7 EXHIBIT G - Water Information
Please specify where the additional monitoring wells described in Section 8.2 will be
installed. The Division concurs that regular water level monitoring should be an integral
part of the site operations; however, a technical revision may be required for additional
monitoring wells if at least general proposed locations are not specified as part of the
original application.
Please be aware that you will need to commit to not exposing groundwater until the
Substitute Supply Plan is approved, or you will be required to post a bond for 100% of
the cost to backfill the operation. If the Substitute Supply Plan has been approved by the
State Engineer, please provide verifying documentation.
6.4.8 EXHIBIT H - Wildlife Information
This section is adequate as submitted.
6.4.9 EXHIBIT I - Soils Information
This section is adequate as submitted.
6.4.10 EXHIBIT J - Vegetation Information
This section is adequate as submitted.
6.4.11 EXHIBIT K - Climate Information
This section is adequate as submitted.
6.4.12 EXHIBIT L - Reclamation Costs
Conceptually the reclamation plan is adequate; however, significantly more detailed
information will be required for the reclamation cost breakdown for the site. This
information is required so that the existing calculations can be justified for use by DRMS,
or so that an accurate calculation of the bond can be completed by DRMS. It is noted
