• -- A revised plan was submitted to the Colorado Division of
Minerals and Geology, and the Division representative provided a
favorable verbal response, but indicated that action will not be
taken until additional review is completed.
RECOMMENDATION:
The Gunnison County Planning Commission recommends that LUC
No. 1994-100, for the Bear Coal mine permit area reconfiguration
and duration extension, be approved with the following conditions:
1) This application will be considered null and void if the
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology does not approve the
State application for this proposal.
2) The Bear Coal mine must comply with all restrictions that
are established by the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology in
relation to this permit alteration.
3) Bear Coal must comply with existing restrictions placed on
the mining operation. In this context, Bear Coal must continue to
take all appropriate measures to minimize material from falling off
haul trucks operating on Highway 133.
