4.) Will there be a "working-face" or a highwall? As mining proceeds, please indicate
how the final pit slopes will be constructed.
5.) It states in the mine plan that reclamation will be an ongoing process as the site is
mined. Please explain this further, as the mine resource is exhausted briefly explain what
reclamation will occur? For example, if mining has been completed in an area, will the
pit slopes be constructed, will the overburden and topsoil be replaced, and will that area
be revegetated upon completion of mining in that area?
6.) In the mine plan on item (d) it states that, "The area to be disturbed at any one time
should not exceed ten (20) acres,". Will 10 or 20 acres be the maximum disturbed area?
Please be advised that once the maximum disturbed acreage is reached, the operator will
not be able to disturb more acreage until a portion of the site is reclaimed and a release is
granted by the Division, or the operator files a Technical Revision to change the amount
of maximum disturbed acreage.
7.) Will the site be mined in phases, if so please outline these phases. Please describe the
size of the phases and where the phases will be located. Please indicate when the various
phases will begin and when they will end. Also, if the site will be mined in phases please
display these phases on the Exhibit C mine plan map.
8.) It states in the mining plan that the topsoil will be stored on site and planted with
native grasses. Please identify the species of grasses that will be planted on the topsoil
pile, and indicated how many pounds of live seed per acre will be planted for each of the
species used. Will the side slopes of the topsoil stockpile be sloped to a 3:1 horizontal to
vertical ratio?
6.4.5 EXHIBIT E - Reclamation Plan
1.) Please indicate that the post mine land use will be rangeland, and please indicate why
that post mine land use was chosen.
2.) As mentioned above please indicate to what depth the overburden will be replaced
and the depth the topsoil will be replaced over the entire mine area.
3.) It states in item (c) of the reclamation plan that a diversion dike may be needed to
convey storm water. In the mine plan, it states in item (c) that no water diversions are
necessary at the pit. Please clarify this discrepancy. If a diversion will be installed please
indicate where it will be installed and display it on the Exhibit C mine plan map. If it will
be installed, please indicate the size and dimensions of the diversion. Also, will the
diversion remain in place after the site has been fully reclaimed?
4.) Will topsoil and overburden be replaced on the pit floor, and will the pit floor be
revegetated?
