As mining progresses the side slopes will be formed. Topsoil will be redistributed
along 3H to 1 V side slopes after the initial pit development which would be about two
years. Topsoil shall be spread a minimum of once per year to affected areas.
e.ii. The size of Phase I reclamation will be at 13.88 acres and Phase II reclamation will
be at 9.42 acres
e.iii. The sequence of reclamation will be :
1. Lay slopes back during extraction at a 3H:1 V slope.
2. Distribute topsoil within one year.
3. Seed following overburden and topsoil distribution once a sizeable
area - 2-3 acres is ready for seed.
f.i. Maximum slope gradient to be 3H to 1V.
f.ii. The Natural Resource Conservation Service has identified the grasses that are on
the property. The method of seeding will be by drilling the seed. The grasses are
also shown on Map E.1 and they are matched to the phases to which they
correspond.
The grasses and seeding rates in Phase 1 are:
SPECIES RATE (PLS/AC)
Blue Grama 1.0
Wyoming Big Sage 0.5
Needle and Thread 2.25
Rubber Rabbitbrush 2.5
Winterfat 2.5
Indian Ricegrass 1.0
Bottle Brush Squirreltail 3.0
Spike Muhly 0.25
Sand Dropseed 0.25
Western Wheatgrass 3.0
