The spillway appeared to be stable and functioning as <br /> designed. There were no erosional problems noted on the pond embankment at the <br /> time of the inspection. <br /> - The East Taylor Pond (NPDES Ol OA) contained water approximately eight feet below <br /> the top of the discharge pipe and one foot below the weep hole and was not <br /> discharging at the time of the inspection. The pond embankment was well <br /> vegetated and appeared to be stable. The emergency spillway is a riprapped open <br /> channel. The spillway appeared to be stable and functioning as designed. There <br /> were no erosional problems noted on the pond embankment at the time of the <br /> inspection. <br /> - The West Pit Pond (NPDES 008A) contained water approximately eight feet below <br /> the top of the discharge pipe and was not discharging at the time of the inspection. <br /> The water was very murky. The presettling cell also contained a small amount of <br /> water but was not discharging into the main pond. The pond embankment was well <br /> vegetated and appeared to be stable. This sump was cleaned last month. There were no problems noted with <br /> the sump at the time of the inspection. <br /> - Sump 4 contained water approximately three feet below the top at the time of the <br /> inspection. This sump was cleaned last month. There were no problems noted with <br /> the sump at the time of the inspection. <br /> - Sump 5 contained water approximately three feet below the top at the time of the <br /> inspection. This sump was cleaned last month. There were no problems noted with <br /> the sump at the time of the inspection. <br /> - The operator was working on the Section 29 Perimeter Ditch at the timke of the <br /> inspection. The construction had begun on some portions of the ditch and topsoil <br /> stripping was taking place at other portions of the ditch. <br /> - The Section 28 Perimeter Ditch has been completed. The ditch appeared to be in <br /> the proper alignment. The lower portion of the ditch was covered in heavy plastic for <br /> erosion protection. Jennifer indicated that the ditch would be seeded shortly <br /> (possibly later in the week) <br /> Support Facilities: - The facilities area was in good condition at the time of the <br /> inspection. No problems were noted with the area. <br /> - The Gossard Loadout appeared to be stable and in good condition at the time of <br /> the inspection. No fugitive dust coming from the coal stockpiles or stacker tube at <br /> the time of the inspection. <br />
