A
r't M
5
• Z-AB-05 (29.1ac), SL-8 Phase 1 — Large rills established on the northern slope out of the
contour ditch. Contour ditch showed evidence of overtopping and blow-outs in 3 locations in
the ditch. Ditch repair would address the rilling down slope of the parcel. The ditches and
rills will require repair and maintenance work.
• Z-AB-05 (29.1 ac), SL-8 Phase 1 —Evidence of past two track road through SC-Z-01 and down
the west side of the parcel. Gullies are down cutting due to runoff in the two tracks. Repairs
should be done in order to slow the erosional characteristics of the gully.
Backfillina and Grading
In order to determine compliance with Trapper's backfilling and grading to meet the approximate
original contour for SL-8, 112 randomly selected locations were derived utilizing Trapper's SL-08 Map
1, 2 and 3. Random points were placed at various contour elevations in ArcGIS and then those points
were downloaded into a Trimble GeoXT. During the bond release inspection, the points were
navigated to using the data in the Trimble and another point was taken. The points collected at the
site were downloaded from the Trimble into Pathfinder office and converted into a point shapefile to
utilize in ArcGIS. The points collected were compared with the random points based on elevation.
Elevation data, using the Trimble geoXT is not exact. The main purpose of the elevation collection
was to determine if the elevation data showed any anomalies such as drastic elevation changes or
fluctuations in elevation. All elevation points were —20' lower than the elevation from the base points.
Given the inexact elevation data collection of the Trimble geoXT, this difference in elevation is
acceptable. Furthermore, Trapper's backfilling and grading was extremely consistent with the
contours submitted with the SL-08 application.
Topsoil
Topsoil depths were not verified during this inspection as depths were measured previously. Records
are available at the Division offices and at the Trapper Mine site. No problems were noted with topsoil
at the time of the inspection.
Revenstation
The establishment of vegetation was inspected to support the post mining land use of rangelands.
Based on this on the ground inspection, Trapper's vegetation cover and shrub density are acceptable
and no problems were noted with revegetation at the time of the inspection. Few noxious species
were noted during the inspection with the exception of the following locations:
• Parcel D-AB-03 (70.8ac) SL-08 and SL-09—Small patch of Canada thistle noted south of the
access road along the ridge at the southern most boundary of the parcel. This area should be
eradicated for the thistle growth.
