6.3.4 EXHIBIT D - Reclamation Plan
Section a) Please address how remaining overburden, if any, will be handled for the
site.
Section b) Please clarify if the site will be mined to no greater that 3:1 slopes, or if
overburden will be replaced after mining to achieve the 3:1 slopes. This
information, along with the size and location of topsoil and overburden
stockpiles on the site, is critical to the accurate calculation of reclamation
costs.
Section c)(i) Please modify topsoil thickness to be salvaged to at least nine inches, per
the comments under Exhibit C - Section b).
Also, weed control methods are required to be used for all noxious weeds on site. A
generic plan to control all noxious weeds should be included in all permit applications. If
a specific noxious weed species appears in the future, the plan may need to be modified
to deal with that particular species at that time.
The reclamation costs are still under review at this time. Your estimate appears to be
within reason; however, the division is required to complete a separate bond estimate as
well. When the clarification of the Exhibit D - Section b) information above is received,
this will be completed.
Other sections in Exhibit D are adequate as submitted.
6.3.5 EXHIBIT E - Maps
If the road to this site will be substantially upgraded as the result of this mine, it must be
included in the overall affected area.
Please make sure that any man-made structures (including fences, roads, and utilities)
within 200 feet of the site boundary and their owners are included on the Site Map and
Mining Plan Map.
Mining Plan Map must include location of overburden stockpile (if any), and direction of
mining.
Please make sure all maps are very clear about the relationship between the area to be
included in this permit application, and the area immediately south within permit M-
2004-014.
Reclamation Plan Map must include depths of overburden and topsoil to be replaced.
All maps should be signed by the person who prepared them.
