2.05.5 Postmining Land Use (Cont'd.)
(2)(a)(iii)
At the request of the private surface owner, the operator plans to leave
the access road in place at the east mine for access to rangeland in
accordance with the procedures outlined in 2.06.5. Final reclamation will
consist of revegetation of the recontoured areas. To the extent that
topsoil or other suitable subsoil material is available to cover the benches,
it will be used in seed bed preparations. Final contours of the disturbed
areas will be as set forth in Maps 6A-5A though 6A-50.
Per the Bureau of Land Management correspondence in the Land Use
Appendix, Volume 9, both the proposed mining activities and postmining
land uses in the area of the west mine are consistent with BLM
management plans in that area.
(2)(b) See landowners' request for a variance in the land Use Appendix in Volume 9 for
the east mine. Also see the Bureau of Land Management correspondence in the
Land Use Appendix in Volume 9. Rangeland and wildlife utilization is consistent
with BLM management plans for postmining use of the west mine area.
(2)(c) See Maps 9-1 and 6A-5A through 6A-50. Also see sheet 9 of the west mine
portals designs in Appendix 66.
(2)(d) No alternative land uses are proposed at this time.
• TR 96-028 83
7z-Z $/ kiv-o3
/~PPRoVEO I~-~/y~94
Rev. 4/27/98
