§2.05 APPLICATION FOR PERMIT FOR SURFACE OR UNDERGROUND MINING ACTIVITIES -
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR OPERATION AND RECLAMATION PLANS.
2.05.4 Reclamation Plan.
(2) (e) (vii) (Cont'd)
comparison to suitability criteria on a soil
suitability table. See the Soils-Suitability
Appendix in Volume 9.
(f) The East and West Mines have coal processing waste and
underground development waste which is disposed of through
the methods described in Waste Disposal Area Development
(see 2.05.3(3)(b)). The Fire Protection Plan is as
described in Waste Disposal Appendix in Volume 6A.
Non-coal wastes generated during underground mining
activities are placed in the Delta County Sanitary
Landfill. No acid-forming or toxic-forming materials are
anticipated to be produced at the East or West Mines.
(g) The East Mine entries are designed, located and
constructed so as to prevent or control gravity discharge
of water from the mine. Upon abandonment, the portals and
shafts will be sealed, as illustrated in Figure 2.05.6 in
the Final Abandonment Appendix, Volume 6A.
In the Stevens Gulch Well Field there are open well holes.
Upon closure of the mine, the wells will be capped for
abandonment. However, it is anticipated that beneficial
use can be made of the wells after mine closure. Upon
final abandonment, the operator will evaluate this
- beneficial use, consult with the regulatory authority and
properly amend this plan so as not to cap well holes, if
deemed appropriate. Entries and shafts shall be sealed in
compliance with Sections 9.05.10 and 9.07.1-4.
Revised 08/01/84
Revised 10/12/86
Revised 07/13/87
Revised 10/01/87
Revised 01/20/03
76
Rr(-oY Cw/9 foy~
MR-f a~
