As of August 2008, most of Phases 1,2 and 3
have been mined out, therefore the remaining life of the pit after August, 2008 would be slightly less
than 36 months at a production of 500,000 tons per year. Future production is difficult to forecast, so
this schedule is only approximate.
Access to the site will be achieved by County Road 5 along the east side of the property. This access
• was constructed as part of the initial mining activity under the existing DRMS permit.
Topsoil will be stored within the facilities area on the south side of the permit. Also, topsoil will be
stored in a 7' high berm along the southern edge of the permit boundary. Topsoil will only be stored
during the first four phases, since topsoil generated during latter phases of the operation will be used in
reclamation.
No explosives will be used in conjunction with the mining and reclamation operation.
•
White River City Pit, August 08 D-6
