Michael Boulay May 21-2008
CAM: Please see amended page 2-26 adding text pertinent to the additional
disturbance created with this technical revision application. Page 2-27 was
amended based on DRMS' comments listed in item #5.
6. DRMS: The Affected and Disturbed Areas Map (Figure 2.2-1) referenced in
the Section 2.2 narrative will need to be updated. The disturbed area boundary
needs to be revised to incorporate expansion proposed in TR-16. Delineation of
underground workings "affected area to date" and "future affected area" will also
need to be updated.
Please submit an appropriately amended Figure 2.2-1.
CAM: Please see amended Figure 2.2-1, and amended page 2-26.
7. DRMS: Surface Facilities narrative does not appear to include discussion of
the small existing "Storage Area" located adjacent to the haul road east of the
existing sediment pond, nor does amended narrative include discussion of the
larger proposed "Material Storage Area" (shown on amended Figure 2.2-2),
which would be located at the site of the existing sediment pond and sediment
storage area.
Please provide amended narrative with description of the two storage
areas, including the construction details and materials that will be stored in
each location. Section 2.2.3 on page 2-34 and 2-35 may be the appropriate
location for discussion of these storage facilities.
CAM: A section about the `Material Storage Areas' was added to the first
paragraph of page 2-34.
8. DRMS: Three concerns related to maps associated with the storage areas
referenced in Item 7 were noted. First, on both amended Figures 2.2-2 and 2.2-3,
there are crossed contour lines along the slope near the northeast and southeast
corners of the "Material Storage Area". Second, the sediment containment berm
associated with the small existing storage area is not depicted on amended
Figure 2.2-3. Third, a rip-rapped diversion ditch would appear to be necessary to
safely convey flow from the ephemeral channel east of the proposed Material
Storage Area down to Ditch D-7-1, along the south perimeter of the proposed cut
slope.
Please correct these items on amended versions of Figure 2.2-2 and 2.2-3.
CAM: Please see amended SedCad page showing new rip-rapped ditch D-7-3
and the berm shown around the material storage area on amended Figures 2.2-
2&3.
4
