• Additional mining areas associated with the Main Cresson Mine, the WHEX of the <br />East Cresson Mine, and the North Cresson Mine to include expansion of the Schist <br />Island mine area and remining of the Globe Hill deposit <br />^ Haul Roads to connect the new mine areas, Load Out Bin, and the Phase 5 of the VLF <br />^ An ECOSA and an extension to the SGOSA <br />^ A Phase 5 extension to the VLF in Arequa Gulch and appropriate modifications of the <br />drainage and storm water management plan in Arequa Gulch to accommodate the <br />extension <br />^ An increase in the placement of ore on portions of Phases I-IV of the existing VLF <br />from approximately 590 feet above the liner system to a height of approximately 800 <br />feet <br />^ A modified enrichment circuit to recirculate leach solutions more efficiently to load <br />leach solutions with gold <br />^ Change of the fuel and crusher supply access route from Arequa Gulch to a new <br />access from the Ironclad area to the crusher area <br />^ The Coblentz geology building to be rebuilt near the Ajax headframe and the crusher <br />maintenance facilities to be relocated to an area near the secondary crusher building <br />^ Incorporation of the Cameron Mine Permit (M-1991-134) into the Cresson Mine <br />• Permit (M-1980-244) and recalculation of the financial warranty for that area under <br />the Cresson MLE financial warranty. <br />Several other peripheral activities will occur for which no approval is sought or needed <br />from the MLRB or OMLR. The existing electrical substation providing electricity to <br />CC&V and the surrounding communities will be removed and relocated by Aquila to a <br />new site south of State Highway 67 on property controlled by Aquila. Also, State <br />Highway 67 will be modified to create a turning lane southbound from the Highway onto <br />County Road 821 and to create a northbound acceleration lane from County Road 821 <br />onto the Highway under separate agreements with the Colorado Department of <br />Transportation ("CDOT"). Finally, County Road 83 will be removed and County Road <br />82 will be realigned under separate permitting through Teller County. <br />Approximately 110 million tons of additional ore and 250 million tons of additional <br />overburden are proposed to be mined within the proposed MLE areas for a total of 360 <br />million tons over the additional approximate four years of mining in the MLE area. This <br />can be contrasted against a total of about 540 million tons (180 million tons of ore and <br />360 million tons of overburden) anticipated to be moved through the Amendment No. 8 <br />approval.
