it TASK 6 REVEGETATION All areas disturbed during reclamation work and any other areas specified in these Special Conditions will be revegetated according to the Revegetation Specifications in the General Bid Specifications. Commercial fertilizer is required for this project, and will be supplied by CONTRACTOR. Seed will be supplied by the OWNER. All areas disturbed during reclamation work and any other areas specified in these Special Conditions will be revegetated according to the Revegetation Specifications in the General Bid Specifications Section 20.0, except as modified by these Special Conditions. In addition to the revegetation specifications outlined in Section 20.0, General Bid Specifications, 1996, the following requirements will be adhered to: Seed Seed will be provided by the OWNER. CONTRACTOR must give the PROJECT MANAGER at least ten 0 0) working days notice of the acreage to be seeded, so that the proper amount of seed is delivered. Hand written acreage calculations are acceptable. Fertilizers Commercial fertilizer is required for this project. Fertilizer shall be provided by CONTRACTOR, and shall conform to Section 20.2 (commercial fertilizer) of the Revegetation Specifications, General Bid Specifications, 1996. Seedbed Preparation Seedbed preparation was accomplished as a result of Task 4, Surface Roughening. Mulches Mulching was accomplished during Task 4, Surface Roughening. CONTRACTOR will hand broadcast the seed and fertilizer in order to achieve an even distribution of each material over the roughened slope. Seed application rate is specified in the table contained in Section 20 of the revegetation Specifications, General Bid Specifications, 1996. Revegetation efforts will occur on approximately eight (8) acres, which includes the Work Area, the topsoil excavation area and the mine backfill area. Measurement and Payment Measurement and payment for,;this Task will be as per Revegetation Specification 20.0. Revegetated areas will be measured to the nearest 0.1 acre and paid at the unit price bid on the Bid Schedule Item 6. The price bid shall include all costs for labor, materials, equipment and all other items necessary for revegetation as described in these specifications, including work at the Work area, topsoil excavation area and at the mine backfill area. Payment for this task will be made only for the unit price shown under Item 6 of the Bid Schedule. Payment shall be as this task is completed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. TASK 7 MINE OPENING BACKFILL An open abandoned mine entry ' is located about one half (1/2) mile west of the Work Area on the north side of the main road. The Dimensions of the opening are approximately eight feet (8') by ten feet (10') by twenty feet (20') in depth. The preferred closure method is backfill. Standard Work Specification 2.0 shall apply.
