covered by like material and having no vegetation. Also, this spoil will be feathered out so
that there is no noticeable mound or stockpile of material and a level loadout area is achieved
(See Cross Section 1). No spoil will be transported from this project site to the landfill. All
spoil will remain on site and will be placed as described above.
3. ASK 3-SECTION 15 STREAM REALIGNMENT. This TASK has been modified to include
TASK 3A, Upper 350 lineal Feet of Stream Channel Realignment (Drawing 2A) and TASK 313,
Lower 200 lineal feet of Stream Channel Realignment with riprap (Drawing 213). The Work
Description is changed and clarified to include the following:
550 lineal feet of new channel will be excavated, shaped and contoured, not 400 lineal
feet. The location of the channel will be flagged by.the Project Manager and will include
a more pronounced meander (See Map 6).
As clarification, the Channel is to be cut into the undisturbed ground to a depth of 3 feet
in accordance with drawing number 2A for the upper 350 feet and the fill material shall
be placed on the outside curve of the meanders to create a levee.
The lower 200 feet of new channel shall be cut into the undisturbed ground in accordance
with drawing number 2B and the fill material shall be placed on the outside curve of the
meanders to create a levee.
The lower 200 feet of new channel shall have angular riprap installed to a depth of 9
inches to 18 inches on the channel bed and side slopes. Riprap must be keyed into the
channel bed and side slopes on the upstream and downstream ends. This riprap key will
consist of a 4 foot by 4 foot trench excavated into the finished channel and filled with
riprap. Riprap shall have a D-50 minimum of 9 inches and a D-Max of 18 inches. Larger
riprap will be acceptable on the floor of the channel as long as the final channel freeboard
is no less than 3 feet below the original ground surface (drawing 213).
Overall realigned stream channel grade shall be no steeper than a 20:1 slope within the
upper 350 feet and no steeper than 10:1 within the lower 200 feet of channel.
Riprap material for the road crossing must consist of durable river rock or irregular riprap
having a minimum D-50 of 9 inches and a D-Max of 18 inches. The driving surface
created must be smooth with no rocks sticking above the grade of the stream channel.
4. ASK 5-RECONSTRUCTION OF POND 22-P10. The Work Description is changed and clarified
to include the following:
The existing culvert at pond 22-P10 will be supplemented with a 36 inch diameter, 16
gauge, Corrugated Steel Culvert (CSP) installed at a 20 percent slope.
Eliminate the last sentence which reads "Estimated length is 50 feet."
As clarification, the culvert backfill shall be mechanically compacted using a hand held
vibrating compactor.
2
